| *LARRY’S OBSESSION (FRONT COVER) --(John Peat x Baby Jane Hudson). Sev. 5.5”fl. 32” sc. M. 20 buds. A dark black purple with a striking white edge. The edge varies from a popcorn edge to white shark’s teeth during the season, often with both. At the center of the flower is a green throat. To my knowledge, this flower holds the record for the most expensive daylily ever sold at auction. That wonderful guy from Missouri, Larry Gooden, payed $6,300 at the Canadian-American Daylily Meeting to name this flower. Very striking and unusual, and an awesome parent for black flowers with white sharks teeth. |
