Waves of Glory

(As Time Goes By x Gary Colby) Sev. 6.5 - 7” fl. 26” sc. M 30-35 buds. Gary Colby was an important break for its size, substance and ruffled gold edging. I took it to my best purples to clarify and intensify the color. Waves of Glory moved far beyond both of its parents. The color is a clear orchid lavender with a large green throat and a lighter watermark. The petal edges are surrounded by a wide gold ruffling. The heavily ruffled, crimped and pleated gold to orange edges are thick and heavy, like heavy rubber. Also, the scapes are amazing, with branches beginning at the base of the scape, and then branching to form secondary scapes on the original scape. Strongly recommended, I have never let these easily fertile flowers go unpollinated.
